Go to the following website by clicking on the provided link, http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/ , and select a county and a state (this may be the county/state in which you reside, attend school, or plan to live and work). After reviewing the website and the health outcomes in the County Health Rankings for the area, answer the following questions in a few short sentences as part of your discussion.
- Select one area in need of improvement and list the general statistics pertaining to the specific problem.
- What health resources are currently available to address the problem?
- What health policy might you suggest to improve the ranking in that area?
** Students are to write their name and the appropriate discussion number/discussion title in the title bar for each discussion. For example Discussion 1: Micheal Cabrera or Discussion 3: Sheila Smith. This is important in identifying that students are submitting original posts as well as response posts as required. Students are to submit their discussions directly onto Blackboard Discussion Board. Attachments submitted as discussion board posts will not be graded. Students may include attachments in their posts as needed but must always write their discussions directly on Blackboard where everyone can see their posts without having to open another application like MS Word or Pages.** As a reminder, all discussion posts must be minimum 250 words, references must be cited in APA format, and must include minimum of 2 scholarly resources published within the past 5-7 years. Students must respond at least to 2 classmates on different days and response posts must be minimum 100 words.
